Homewood Suites By Hilton® Charleston - Mt. Pleasant

The atmosphere of this hotel reminded us of walking into a nursing home - the depressing decor and lack of services (no bell boys to help with luggage, no room service) you generally expect from a hotel of this caliber was very surprising. Not to mention the lack of anything ever going on - no bar, no restaurant, no life! Occasionally, there were people in the very small pool, but that's it. The staff was never friendly or seemed interested in your experience - our room keys were continuously deactivated, and we had to get them fixed at least five times, with no apology for our constant inconvenience. When we arrived, the toilet in our room was dirty! The cleaning people did the very basics, and not replacing things we were out of. We had to find a cart in the hallway to get more Kleenex and soap. The hotel offered free breakfast and dinner Monday through Thursday, and it was awful; Very low budget food. One morning, the milk for our cereal was sour, dough nuts were at least 2 days old every day, canned fruit. Absolutely terrible!
